<h2>new</h2>

<p>
Use the "new" command (#this_domain#/new) to add new records. Joelie makes this as simple
as possible by prompting you only for a table name and title.
</p>

<h3>Table Names</h3>
<p>
To insert a new record, you must tell Joelie what kind of record you are adding. Usually
you'll want to add records to one of these tables:
</p>
<ul>
<li>routine</li>
<li>site</li>
<li>image</li>
</ul>
<p>
You can also utilize your own tables simply by making up a valid table name:
</p>
<div class="example interesting">
<div>example</div>
<div>another_example</div>
<div>anotherexamplethatisdifferent</div>
<span>
Table names can contain only letters and underscores. Do not begin or end the table
name with underscores, and also avoid using adjacent (double) underscores.
</span>
</div>
<p>
Joelie will ensure the table's existence for you, so you don't need to go through a process of creating
it. Simply act as if the table exists.
</p>

<h3>Titles</h3>
<p>
When adding new records, it's wise to give them descriptive titles. This makes them easier to find
later.
</p>
<p>
If you give your record an informal title (ex. "My Cool Picture"), Joelie will insert the record with
that title, but will not attempt to assign the record a unique title.
</p>
<p>
If you give your record a formal title (ex. "my_cool_picture"), Joelie will attempt to use that title
not only as the record's title, but also as its unique title.
</p>

<h3>Using Joelie's Insert Form</h3>
<p>
To add new records by using Joelie's INSERT form, simply navigate to:
</p>
<div class="example">
<div>http://#this_domain#/new</div>
</div>

<h3>Prepopulating the Form Via Url</h3>
<p>
You can change the initial values of Joelie's INSERT form by using
<a href="http://#this_domain#/joelie_docs/selectors">jParse selectors</a> in the url.
</p>
<div class="example interesting">
<div><b>http://#this_domain#/new:/image:My Cool Picture</b></div>
<span>
Because this url includes jParse selectors for the image table (/image) and also
for the search term "My Cool Picture" (:My Cool Picture), Joelie understands that
the intended action will be to add an image called "My Cool Picture".
</span>
