<p>
You may have noticed that I often use a black square to sign my work.
There are black squares all over fentriss.com.
</p>

<p>
I'm not sure why I chose the square to be my symbol, but I can think
of a few things I really like about it:
</p>

<ul>
<li>
You rarely see black squares in nature, but they are extremely easy to
make. Black squares are man-made, even though they are extremely basic.
</li>
<li>
Black squares don't look like logos. You either know what it means
or you don't.
</li>
<li>
The merchandising possibilities are endless. Coasters. Square plates.
Bikinis.
</li>
</ul>

<p>
Update: on CDBaby.com, iTunes and Amazon, you can buy "Believe Me", and the album art is a black square. Cool! Or so I thought.
</p>

<p>
Unfortunately, when you use a large black square as album art, it looks like a typo. So, a lot of non Club Steve USA members (you know, regular old folks) will probably NOT buy the song just based on that. Whoops.
</p>

<p>
I guess I should amend my stance on black squares, then: I like *small* black squares best of all.
</p>

<p>
My favorite one, of course, is the one you'll see in the URL bar on Fentriss.com (and other sites of mine).
