<p>
Club Steve USA recently passed its 25 member benchmark, which reminds me of the club's
humble beginnings. I used to play guitar in my apartment by myself, but now
I can play for all of you.
</p>

<p>
Playing alone never discouraged me. In fact, as some of you know, my apartment
is never really empty. With a little help from my pen and a piece of paper, I
always have an audience:

</div>

<p>
Thanks to you, my audience has grown. But I still keep my original paper audience as inspiration.
</p>

<p>
Recently I had a few people over for my first ever apartment concert (stay tuned, there will
be more). The audience included my friend and neighbor, Dylan.

<p>
I played a song. Just after I finished, *most* of the audience began to clap.
But not Dylan.
</p>

<p>
Just like the stick people on my piece of paper, Dylan prefers to stand up, stick
his arms out wide and shout "Yaaay!".
</p>

<p>
Turns out, this is even more fun than clapping. Everyone started doing the "yaaay"
instead of applauding. Thanks to Dylan, Madison, Chelsea, Becca, Mike, Marie, Gabe
and Diane, we've adopted yaaay as the official Club Steve USA insider salutation.
</p>

<p>
So, next time you see someone who knows about the original paper audience, don't be afraid
to stick your arms out like a stick figure and say "yaaay!"
</p>

<p>
It'll put a smile on your face.

<p>
One time I went to see Laith Al Saadi play.
</p>

<p>
I took my lady out on the dance floor and, after the song was over, began to applaud the band like everyone else.
</p>

<p>
Dylan was off to the side with the other wallflowers, cheering us on. I look back and see him with his arms wide out - yaaay!
</p>

<p>
So I did it too. Not only did I almost whack a few people in the face, but also most of the people ended up staring at Dylan and me, wondering what was wrong with us.
</p>

<p>
I guess the only drawback of sticking your arms all the way out to the side is that it doesn't work very well in close quarters.
